This company are a small but successful international software solutions provider who are looking for a numerate degree educated IT and technically strong person to supply excellent customer care along with project scoping, implementation and delivery.
Specifically the job holder will confirm and document bespoke client requirements, scope technical strategy, produce an implementation plan, test the solution and train the client.
Due to a high degree of customer and business interaction, excellent English both written and verbal is paramount to interpret needs, advise and perform handover to all parties.
Alongside the primary aims of the job, it is also responsible for assessing, quoting and implementing change requests, system upgrades and first line support.The position is mostly office-based with occasional UK travel (approximately 2 days per month). International travel is sometimes required, as is working on customer site for short periods.
To succeed, it is envisaged that you will have 3+ years in the IT industry in a technical role, recently in a customer facing position, IT experience that includes project management and hands-on solution development, be a team player but with the ability to work autonomously, have excellent time management with the ability to set and work to a deadline, be conscientious with attention to detail and the ability to complete assignments, be dependable and reliable, particularly under pressure, with a “step up to the mark” attitude, have excellent inter-personal skills, well presented, and with excellent written and verbal communication ability.
Technical skills:
• Excellent SQL/T-SQL, specifically with SQL Server 2005/2008
• Web development (HTML, AJAX, ASP, JSP, PHP, Apache, IIS, etc)
• Scripting, ideally, Bash and JavaScript• Basic programming (Java, JavaScript, VB, C++, etc)• Experience with software installations on both Windows and Linux
• Remote access/data exchange technologies (RDP, VPN, SSH, FTP, HTTP, XML, etc)
Any experience in web analytics or business intelligence would be a significant bonus.
